6 Days Marangu Route Kilimanjaro Climb – Classic Hut Route

Overview

Overview

The 6 Days Marangu Route Kilimanjaro Climb is one of the most famous routes to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” the Marangu route is the only Kilimanjaro trail that offers hut accommodation instead of camping.

This makes the Marangu route a popular option for climbers who prefer more comfort during the trek. Trekkers sleep in mountain huts equipped with beds and dining areas rather than tents.

The Marangu route follows a direct path to the summit and uses the same trail for both ascent and descent. Along the way, climbers pass through beautiful landscapes including rainforest, moorland, alpine desert, and the icy summit zone.

The 6-day itinerary includes an extra acclimatization day, which significantly improves the chances of reaching Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 5,895 meters.
